2010 THEME: UPPER EXTREMITY Every year the theme and topics of camp will change
This 3 day camp includes instruction on various topics as well as time for labs to practice what was learned in instruction. The following itinerary outlines the content that will be covered during camp:

4:00pm-5:00pm: Check-in to hotel Welcome and introductions Dinner Introduction to the profession of athletic training Lesson on medical language Q&A session with USF athletic training students Icebreakers/game night!

Tour of Tampa Yankees Steinbrenner Field Sports Medicine Facilities Q&A with Tampa Yankees Head Athletic Trainer, Kris Russel Lesson on wrist and hand anatomy and injuries Lesson on forearm and elbow anatomy and injuries Lab on taping techniques for the upper extremity Lesson on shoulder anatomy and injuries Lesson on general medical conditions Camp outing to Tampa Yankees baseball game v. Brevard County Manatees

Tour of USF Athletics building and Sports Medicine facilities Lesson and lab on stretching techniques for the upper extremity Lesson on concussions Lesson on the cervical spine and emergency situation procedures Lab on protective equipment fitting Lab to learn how to safely spineboard an injured athlete Lab with USF strength and conditioning coaches on upper body weight training Lesson and lab on sports medicine modalities and rehabilitation techniques Lab in aquatic therapy and hydrocare

Athletic Training Olympic Game Day!! Check-out: 11:30am-12:00pm
Days include instruction as well as labs. Nights include fun games and time to socialize with new friends! On the last day of camp, there is a camp-wide competition called athletic training olympics. Campers will break into teams and compete with each other utilizing unique athletic training skills they learned from camp!
